Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!! The craziness of the Holidays is over. It is bitter-sweet! I’m grateful that family visited. It really is the best time of the year! Especially with all the magic when there are kids in the home. And it’s great to be in Tucson, where there is no snow to shovel. Although we did get close this year. The mountains all around us were white for the first time since we moved here three winters ago.
Even though I was sad to see family head home to the cool country of Colorado, I’m looking forward to getting back to my writing (after I get taxes done). 😝
It was in January of 2015 that I started writing the first page of my first fiction book. I fast for five days every January for maybe eight years now. The entire month of January is a dry month for me. Not only do I not get to have my glass of dry red wine in the evening, I don’t get to have caffeine or sugar either. 😲
I know. I’m crazy. This is the month to detox after the Holidays β€” get back on a healthy track for the new year. This is also the month that I write the most. It is amazing how much time one has when they’re not eating or drinking. πŸ˜‚
So my goal is to finally finish my forth book. I’m only two months behind. I fully blame the Holidays. πŸ˜‰
We have to set specific goals if we every hope to get projects done. We also can’t beat ourselves up (too much) if we don’t always make those goals. What are your goals for the New Year!
